The Brace Space
During these times we have learned to take more care to make sure that things last, stay effective and keep working longer. Invisalign retainers are one of these things. 1)Take your Invisalign trays out every morning and clean both your trays and your teeth to remove any bacterial buildup in the night. 2)Always brush and floss your teeth after eating and before putting your retainers back in. 3)While they are in, avoid drinking coffee or tea or anything that will stain the retainer. 4)When you take them out to eat, always rinse them in warm, not hot water. Hot water could change their shape. You can give them a brush with a soft brush, but don’t use toothpaste as it is too abrasive and can make them cloudy-looking. 5)To give them a more thorough clean you can immerse them in Polident retainer cleaner for 15 minutes per day. 6)Always put them in their case so that they do not get exposed to air. This can cause bacterial growth. Following these simple guidelines, you will not only preserve the life of your Invisalign retainer, but also your breath will smell a lot fresher. Keep smiling, we will get through this.
